Just a short interjection at this point to announce that we will be changing the format of this blog to include some additional voices. I (Greg) have found it increasingly difficult to keep up with the pace of the discussion while also devoting adequate time to studies. So we will be welcoming some new "contributing authors" to this blog. All are Christians and all share the desire of Jack and myself to foster better understanding between differing political perspectives and to do so in a respectful way. We will likely be having a few others join, but for now I would like to introduce the following authors:

Scott Neumann, Associate Professor of History and Political Science at Greenville College (IL). Scott has taught at Greenville since 2000, is the father of four, and has spent extensive time teaching in Lithuania.

Chuck Gutenson is author of the book Christians and the Common Good, and has contributed numerous times to the Huffington Post. He was a staffer with Sojourners and a Professor of Theology at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. Dr. Gutenson has a Ph D and wrote his dissertation on the theology of Wolfhart Pannenburg.

Shane Hinson, second-year Ph D student at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. Shane did his undergraduate work in Political Science and recently completed a master's thesis on the topic of economic justice so he will be well suited to this conversation.

Hank Spaulding is a first-year Ph D student at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in the area of Theology and Ethics. He has a Master of Theological Studies from Duke Divinity School. As you can tell from his picture below, Hank is cool.

Now don't you just feel lucky to have discovered this blog? I must say that I do notice a disturbing trend of 100% white male voices. We do need to diversify and if any of you, our readers, have suggestions, please let us know. More authors will soon be joining us, but I wanted to introduce you to these fine new contributors to the conversation.
